Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam

It was such a bittersweet day sending Cayden off to Primary for the very fist time on January 12th (we were at the funeral the first Sunday). He seemed a little confused but was already used to being without us for 2 hours because of Nursery, only this time it isn't play time. From the feedback and what I had seen (yes I was one of those moms who walked by just to peek at him) he did good! I had to get a few pictures of our little guy growing up and this was the best I got...

Balboa

Sometimes it is really fun taking advantage of living in California, like the fact that we can go to the beach in January....not bundled up =) Mike had a Saturday off which is a rare occasion so we took advantage of it and went to Balboa and invited Jared and Amanda to join us..

Jared took Cayden on the Ferris Wheel...

He loved it!

Jared also rode him around the parking lot, Cayden loved that even more...

Getting Ellie to love the beach even though it has to be in her blood...

Love how much he loves being at the beach..

Basketball

Cayden was able to play basketball this past Fall which ended in January. He seemed to like it a little more than soccer, we were just happy to see him out there having fun and making new friends =)
The first three pictures were from his first day and the rest were from his last day.

You can see the ball in the net =)

My Nana and Mom were able to cheer him on at his last game, he was really excited to see them..

Cayden loved doing this after every game..

Great Great Grandfather

My Great Grandfather passed away in December. My mom, sister, brother, the kids and I were all able to squeeze into a rented mini van and drive up to Utah for the funeral. Luckily Ellie only fussed a little which was very helpful for the drive..

It was freezing, it brought back lots of memories from living in Idaho and also made me remember why I don't miss it =)

The funereal was of course very nice and we had a lunch right after for all of the family..

Cayden was having a blast playing with his cousins that he hardly ever gets to see.

Cayden of course was loving the snow and kept saying he wanted to move to Utah...

This poor guy was wiped out by the end of the trip...
It was soo nice seeing family we don't get to see very much and such a great weekend remembering my kid's great great grandfather...

New Years Eve

With all of the family parties we were all having to go to for Christmas, my mom decided to change things up this year. We celebrated Christmas on New Years Eve! I was perfectly happy dragging out Christmas a week longer =)

We did our traditional Christmas breakfast..

I took Cayden to the store that morning and they had a free little activity for kids to decerate a New Years hat, Cayden was excited to do one. Ellie was trying it out..

Excited to open presents!!

Cyaden had been asking for this stick up spidey for months, Every time we went to Target he had to go into the isle where he was and show me. You can only imagine how excited he was to find out he got it!

There is one way to open a present...

That night we went to the movies and saw Frozen which we all loved!!
