My little First Grader

Well Summer came and went SO fast like usual! I can't believe my little Cayden is officially a first grader! I could tell he was a little nervous but definitely excited, he loves school!

Cayden has been really sticking with the train engineer profession...

We ran into some friends from last year which was fun =)

I think this is where the nerves were really starting to sink in..

Off they went..school is such a bittersweet thing for me.

The night before school

I decided to do a fun little family dinner/family home evening the night before school. We decided to talk about putting on the armor of god which we had a cute little orange demonstration so I thought I would keep the theme alive so we ate orange chicken and had an orange cake for dessert. The kids loved it!

My mom couldn't miss out on the fun and she even brought them little gifts..

Time is flying way too fast, I can't believe I will have two in school! Only one more to go =)

Overcoming fear

Last Summer Cayden wanted to try the water slide at our community pool. It was his first and last time, well this year we were invited serveral times to another community pool that had two bigger water slides. The first couple times we went he didnt even ask to go on them and then finally one day he got enough courage to try and would not stop! He LOVED it! I was really proud of him for getting over the fear and realizing how fun something could be =)

It was a great way to end off the Summer!!

San Diego zoo!

On 8/8 we decided to venture out to the San Diego Zoo since we normally go to the Wild Animal Park! We all had a great time!! Zoo's are always hit and miss with how many animals you will see and how up-close they will be but this time we were able to have some up-close fun encounters with the animals which made the trip so fun!!

We loved watching the lions take their naps..
we always have to ride on the skyfari! Since we all are not able to fit in one, Cayden was my little date..

The kids were at this window for quite some times seeing the giant turtles and crocodiles swim right by them..

We went to the gorillas right when it was feeding time which was so fun to watch! This big guy was cracking us up..

Seriously love this picture..

We saw a really fun trampoline/acrobatic show while we ate dinner..

Before we left we decided to let Cayden right the train that is right outside the zoo. He has been wanting to ride it for over a year now and so he was SO excited!
We were pretty exhausted by the end of the day but totally worth it!!

Gymnastics

Cayden has always been interested in gymnastics since the last time he did it and so when I found a summer program I signed him up! Unfortunately for his day and time he was the only boy, but I don't think that bothered him one bit =) His class had their little performance on their last day, 8/4 and they were to dress up like a Disney character, luckily that meant getting away with a Marval character...

Cayden has never had his face painted so he was excited about it..

Grammy drove all the way out to see his last day! We grabbed some lunch after and had a great time!

Beach with Jared and Amanda

We were so excited to finally be able to spend some time with Jared and Amanda. Our visits have become further and further apart over the years with everything in life that goes on. We decided to meet at a new beach neither of us had been to but it was in between our houses so we went on 8/1!

These two were so adorable to watch! It took them a while to warm up to each other but when they did they had such a blast.

They didn't even say anything to each other just played, smiled, and laughed...

Beach day with family!

On July 10th we met my cousin and her family that were visiting from Utah at the beach! We had so much fun and the kids loved playing with their cousins..

My Uncle Bill transformed my kids into different human beings! He convinced Cayden to try boogie boarding which we haven't been able to do this year, and he did! I was amazed and about to have a nervous breakdown watching him take all of the waves!

He had a smile on his face the whole time..

Uncle Bill even got him riding on his back!

Our little miss Ellie this year had decided to not go near the water and Uncle Bill got her playing and having a blast in it!

Our little Mia is a sand eater unfortunately and she loves the beach!
