Cayden at 2

Cayden has changed soo much over the last 6 months and most of them are good changes. =) The biggest one is how much he talks! I didn't think he was ever going to put two words together and then one day out of the blue he did and is now our little talker. He doesn't say big sentences but can put 3 words together like "more milk please" etc...he picks up on a lot that way say, and will copy us. One of my favorite things that I cant get enough of is how he likes to sing! I sing to him every night and before I put him down for a nap and one day he just started to sing twinkle twinkle little star with me! The songs he does know and always wants me to sing are..twinkle twinkle little star, I am like a star, I am a child of God, Teach me to walk in the light, I love to see the temple, and popcorn popping. It is soo cute to see how he gets into the songs when he sings and how he squints his little eyes..I love it and hope he sings later on in life and isn't afraid to. Cayden never used to watch TV, even when I had it on but now, maybe because he is older, he wants to watch it almost every morning. He only asks for "Mickey on" but also loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Little Einsteins, and Doc Mcstuffins. Luckily its only on in the morning for a little bit but he would probably like to watch it more if he was allowed too. Cayden loves to be involved in most everything I am doing, he loves to help me with the laundry or sweep the floor etc...its really cute and hope he continues to enjoy it for my sake! Cayden learned the whole alphabet shortly after 18 months and right after that got way into counting. He can only count to 10 and sometimes likes to leave out a number...lately it has been 6. Cayden thank goodness still loves his fruits and veggies and eats pretty much any kind, which we are so grateful for...when we went to Caydens 2 year check up she asked if he was on a vitamin and I said no does he need to be? She asked if he eats fruits and veggies everyday and when I said yes he loves them she looked at me suspiciously like she didn't believe me and was surprised that one of Cayden's favorites is Broccoli, just like his mommy, and a new one which we think is pretty funny is salad. Cayden loves music, he likes me to play it in the house and gets excited when we sing in church and if there is a special musical number he has to watch. His Uncle Bri Bri has been a big influence on him for that and I definitely think Cayden will be musically talented like him. Cayden is extremely active and needs to stay busy and loves to explore and get into stuff and see how things work. Cayden is the kind of kid that likes to hide the things he knows, I don't understand why he does, like one day I started to write his name in the sand at the park and I started with "C" and he spelled the rest? I have never even tried to teach him how to spell his name. Cayden is a big flirt and loves the attention he gets from people, mainly the girls. He will do anything to keep their attention too...this is definitely something mommy doesn't like!! Cayden can be such a hand full some days but he has such a sweet spirit about him I hope I never forget.
His Stats:
Weight...27 1/2 pounds (somewhere in the 40th%)
Height... 33 inches (19%)

Cayden's Birthday part 2!

On the 17th (of April, I am very behind on blogging), we took Cayden to the Aquarium of the pacific for his Birthday! I tried to get Cayden to take an early nap but of course he never fell asleep and then hoped for plan B to work which would be him sleeping on the drive over...he didn't do that either. So needless to say we were a little worried how he would be. Luckily we were able to walk the whole aquarium before the tantrum broke out!

We saw a little show on how they started transporting goods on the ocean which was not very entertaining for a 2 year old but it was shown on this globe which was pretty neat..

Cayden really wanted to touch the Sting Rays but his little arms were too short..but was able to touch some Jelly Fish!

After Cayden's horrible and embarrassing tantrum (on our end), we thought we would try to take a walk outside to see if he would fall asleep which again did not work so we called it a day and went home. Luckily we were still able to have a great time and Cayden loved it!!

Cayden's Birthday part 1!

Cayden turned two on the 15th which was the Sunday of our crazy busy weekend. We still wanted to make his actual Birthday a little special so the night before Mike and I went and got him donut man. He loves the round sprinkle ones so he was excited to have a nice healthy breakfast before we headed to church! =)

That night we went over to our Nana and Far Far's house for a family party. We had a lot of family down from Utah for the Wedding so we thought it would be nice to get together one last time before they headed home. Plus we were able to celebrate Cayden and Far Far's Birthday!
My Aunt and Uncle got him a Fire truck for his Birthday and it was extremely hard to open, it literally took everyone 5 to 10 mins just to get it out of the package..but it was so cute watching Cayden patiently waiting for it..
They had no idea he has a huge obsession with Fire trucks so it was a perfect gift..
The next day Uncle Bri bri gave him his gift..he got a train whistle (he is also obsessed with trains) and a harmonica which he loves and plays both well, especially the harmonica.
These two are so cute together, they have a special little bond..

That night we went to Don Jose's for Dinner! Unfortanately the service was awful, really really bad and we never have a problem there so because it was so late by the time we were done eating we didnt have them sing but luckily everyone got a good discount, and it was still nice to be together as a family =)

Mr. and Mrs. Odom

The day after the California Science center, my Cousin Tami had her wedding on the 14th, it was on the beach and they asked if Cayden could be the ring bearer..needless to say I was very excited. It was really cold and windy but luckily was a beautiful day(it was raining a lot the day before).

Looking out at the ocean with Uncle Bri bri...

I was really anxious to see how Cayden would do. We had a dress rehearsal the night before and he did great! The walk down the isle with the flower girl started out good...
My cousin had a really pretty shell that opened and she tied the rings inside to a ribbon that Cayden held, it was a really cute idea..

And then for some reason Cayden stopped, and then everyone was calling him so he wasn't quite sure what was going on..
Luckily, my cousin Kari was able to come and get him..everyone got a good laugh
My cousin looked so beautiful

Having fun in the sand with his second cousin McKenzie

They gave the little ones flowers hoping that would get them to stay and Cayden was being pretty funny with them..
Since we were so close to Balboa we thought it would be fun to head on over and get some Balboa Bars before we needed to get to the reception..

It was a very long busy day but a lot of fun and it was nice spending the day with Family =)

California Science center

On Friday the 13th,Cayden and I went with my mom, sister and her husband and some family from Utah to the California Science center! I had never been and was excited to see what was inside but a little hesitant since Cayden isn't the ideal age for this type of place. Luckily he did great and seemed to really enjoy it!
It was really rainy and super cold that day..

We went and saw a 3D movie about the Hubble, I again was a little hesitant because I thought for sure Cayden would not leave the glasses on and then the movie would just be blurry for him. Luckily it was only about 45 mins so I thought I would give it a try!
Well I was wrong! He wore the glasses!
Well not the entire time but most of it! At first he was getting freaked out by all the objects shooting out at him but then he thought it was hilarious..I am so glad he enjoyed it!

After the movie we headed over to lunch, luckily by then most of the schools had left (it was packed when we got there). My mom and I were very very sad to let go of our Diet cokes to go back..
Wall of ice..

There was also a small section which was an aquarium..

My Uncle Bob got my mom and I to go into a wind tunnel that is supposed to replicate a hurricane, I thought it would be fun to get Cayden in there too..

I think Cayden thought he was flying..he probably would have been if I let him go!
We headed over to the gift shop before we left, I think I found my new calling =)
This is sadly the only semi-group shot we have..my cousin Christie, husband, and 3 kids are missing

I was really excited to give Cayden the gift I got him from the gift shop but I wanted to wait till we got home since Mike wasn't able to go with us. Cayden loves planes and doesn't have a toy one so I knew he would love it, and he does!
Ready for take off!!
