12 weeks!

I could not wait to hit the 12 week mark and boy did it take forever! I seriously thought it was never going to come. This pregnancy has been completely opposite from my first. I started getting nausea at about 9 weeks and it was an all day thing, I did not want to eat anything, nothing sounded good. I remember when I was pregnant with Cayden I didn't feel well all day and had about one day of extreme nausea, this time, it was extreme nausea for a few weeks. Luckily after that it turned into a night nausea after dinner which was still not fun at all but at least it wasn't all day anymore =).  One odd thing was diet soda made me so sick, which if anyone knows me, knows that I love diet soda! Meat really bothered me when I was pregnant with Cayden and this time I had no problem being around it. I was told by my doctor to not run or anything extreme because of what happened with Cayden, so they will be keeping a close eye on this one as I get further along. I was showing super quick, I was wanting maternity pants by 6, 7 weeks and was even being asked if I was pregnant, and family members(people were too afraid to ask me) even before I hit the 12 week mark. When I first found out I was pregnant I was scheduled for a 7 week ultra sound which i thought was odd but was not going to complain =) The doctor was having a really hard time finding the baby which of course was nerve racking for Mike and I and luckily he did. It was very hard to see for measuring reasons so they scheduled me again at week 8 where we were able to see it much better. At my 12 week we were able to hear the heartbeat which was so fun. The rate was 143. I know I know this is nothing to go by, but by the way this pregnancy has gone since the last and the heart rate, we are rooting for a girl =)
12 weeks on December 10th!

As you can see there is really not much to see here at 7 weeks..
Here is the little one at 8 weeks!

25 days continued..

Day 6: We went to see the Christmas lights on Sapphire in Rancho. It seems to be a tradition to go now and like usual we were able to see some really fun crazy decorations..Cayden went through a phase of being obsessed with Nightmare before Christmas, like watch the movie every day so he was excited to see Jack..

There was this miniature trash truck, something else Cayden loves so he was excited to see it, it was actually really cute..

Excited to say hi to Mickey and Minnie..
Kissing Santa..

Day 7: watch Polar Express. This became another movie obsession even before this day because Daddy snuck it in sometime in November. I hid it for a week or so, so when this day would come he would be excited to see it. He still wants to watch it..
Day 8: Went to the downtown Christmas parade and later that night was our ward Christmas Dinner where he was able to sit on Santa's lap..

Cayden did great during the parade and loved it. There was always something going by he was interested in. His favorites of course were the fire trucks, police cars, and motor cycles...

Day 9: Read The Small One

25 days of Christmas begins!

I had soo much fun planning the 25 days of Christmas for Cayden, it is yet another tradition I have decided to start as well as a Christmas Scripture every night. I was searching and searching for one that I liked and came across one that was centered around Christ's life. It started with the birth and ended with him dying on the cross and in between, there were scriptures about all of the miracles and things he did. It was perfect and we loved reading them every night. Here is the beginning of the 25 days of Christmas.
Day 1: Met Santa at the public library (note to self, make sure I pull down Cayden's jeans =) )

Day 2: We hung up colored Christmas lights in Cayden's room which he loved. And ended up breaking before Christmas even came but it was fun while it lasted!
Day 3: Cayden wrote his first wish list to Santa! I like usual let him completely come up with what he wanted to ask for and we could not get enough of his wishes..

He asked for a Doll house, green exit sign, red exit sign, rocket ship, and a candy cane. He did also ask for an emergency exit but I explained to him that might be a little hard for Santa =)

We headed over to Macy's and dropped it off, they donate money for every letter so we thought that would be a good place to take it!

Day 4: Disneyland trip with Grammy! We had such a blast, the weather was great, and the park wasn't too crowded. We tried to get on every ride which we pretty much accomplished except for the fantasy land ones.

This was the best score I have ever gotten so I was proud of myself =), I will admitt the ride stopped for a little while but still!

Grammy got Cayden his own buzz light year gun which he played with the rest of the day.

Grammy went on Autopia with Cayden, this is a ride he LOVES but we never like to go on because when it is time to get off it is melt down time but thinking that Grammy was with him he would be fine, he wasn't happy to get off but it wasn't nearly as bad as previous trips.

We tried out toon town, which is yet another place to avoid with Cayden, I think it just gives him too much freedom since its better if they are out of the stroller. Not to mention we always seem to be there when it should be nap time..

By the end of the night we were exhausted but had such a great time!
Day 5: Read the spirit of Christmas, I love this book and cry almost every time.
More to come!

Elf on the Shelf!

This year I was brave and decided to try Elf on the Shelf. I really didn't know much about it but saw him popping up everywhere on Pinterest and thought it was a cute thing to do. I in no way went to some extremes like some and didn't do anything extravagant every night, in fact some nights I even forgot but that is the great thing about having a 2 year old =) Hopefully next year I will be a little better, and by then Cayden will probably be more into it as well. I decided to start on December 1st, we had a surprise package at the door the day before from Santa himself!

I love Caydens expression, you can already see the confusion. We tried to have Cayden come up with a name but he wanted to call him was Elf, so that was it..

On the first night Elf put streamers all over his door way..and thank goodness for the streamers, Cayden decided to take off his PJ's before coming out that morning =)
This is where Elf was hiding with the evidence..
On Sundays I would try and do things more church like so one Sunday he was reading the scriptures..
Shaving..
Going on a Harley ride..
Taking a marshmallow bath..
Toilet papering the Christmas tree..
Made a special yummy breakfast for Cayden..

Made snow flakes and left a mess on the table..side note, Mike and I, well Mike, I was not good at it, made these sitting by the fire talking and enjoying the Christmas season, it was nice..
Missing the North Pole..
Drinking one of his favorite things, syrup!
Had a little Elf poop and attempting to flush the toilet..
Cayen didn't jump out of bed wondering where Elf was every morning and I am not sure that he fully grasped the fact he reported to Santa every night but he still got a kick out of everything he did and it made for some memories and fun!

Another rainy day..

At the end of November we had yet another great rainy day! It was raining pretty good right after cayden woke up so in his PJ's and all I slipped on the rain boots and we went out.

Catching the rain on his tongue..

I love how much he loves the rain and how much fun he has in it. It is so fun for me to watch.

Christmas shopping fun!

While Julie was off for Thanksgiving we did some Christmas shopping at Victoria Gardens. This is always a fun mall to go to during the Holidays. We took Cayden on the train ride and he happened to be wearing his Thomas hat so it was perfect.

We also noticed a little house that looked like Santa's house and wanted to go check it out. Well we had no idea but Santa was already there! We were not ready for pictures yet but they wanted Cayden to go in and talk to Santa, Cayden of course was of few words but you could tell he was really excited to see him. And they gave him some antlers which he wore proudly =)
I'm not sure who had more fun, Mommy and Auntie Julie or Cayden!
